We are committed to advocating for change in public policy regarding ​human trafficking at local & national levels. 

RESEARCH

We spend considerable time doing research on the topic of sex trafficking, locally and nationally. Using our research, we are able to inform the general public on the details regarding sex trafficking through presentations, literary essays and blogs, as well as lend our findings with local congressmen and women.

LOBBY

We meet with and write letters to local congressmen and women to advocate for an end to sex trafficking through legislative reform. We testify at hearings to advocate for the abolition of human trafficking. 

OUR NOTEWORTHY EFFORTS

In 2016, TMM was introduced on the House floor by Representative Sherry Roberts, District 29. 

In 2017, TMM was introduced on the Senate floor by Senator Elaine Morgan, District 34. 

In 2017, TMM was invited by Senator Elaine Morgan to lead a presentation inside the RI State House to raise awareness on human trafficking. All of Rhode Island's senators and representatives were invited to attend. Holly Otten gave a presentation including what human trafficking looks like locally, nationally and internationally. She shared details of stories she learned first hand of trafficking going on right in our "backyard."

In 2017, TMM presented a legislative package to Senator Elaine Morgan. The package proposed that a bill be passed mandating the National Human Trafficking Hotline be posted in heavy areas of human trafficking around the state of RI. It went before a hearing where Holly Otten gave testimony. Unfortunately, the bill was voted down.

In 2018, TMM joined with organizations from around the nation to lobby on Capitol Hill, DC. This effort was facilitated by the National Center of Sexual Exploitation.
